Valerie A. Rocco, who established her own firm in 1991, concentrates her practice in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate.

Whether addressing the concerns of an adult child with an aging parent who has health problems, a couple who seeks advice on long-term care issues and getting the "right" legal documents in place to protect themselves or their children, or assisting a spouse who must obtain a guardianship of a disabled spouse, Ms. Rocco's years of experience and personal attention mean peace of mind to you.

She has built a reputation for serving clients effectively, efficiently, and with compassion.

Ms. Rocco is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Estates and Trusts and Elder Law sections of the Maryland State and Howard County Bar Associations. She is an active member of many business and senior-oriented organizations to which she often donates her time. She has served on the Board of Directors of a number of non-profit organizations throughout her career, and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Coalition of Geriatric Services (COGS), and the Western Howard County Senior Center Council.

She also volunteers her services in the Howard County Office On Aging's 60+ Will Program, and is a volunteer facilitator in the Howard County District Court. Additionally, Ms. Rocco has been an active speaker on Elder Law and Estate Planning issues to various professional and business organizations through out her career. She frequently contributes articles on these topics to area papers which are referenced in the Articles contained on this site.

Prior to establishing her own firm, Ms. Rocco began her career in 1977 as an Assistant State 's Attorney in Baltimore City , and then served as corporate and litigation counsel for several Fortune 500 companies. Her main office is located in Columbia , Maryland , with satellite offices in Annapolis and Towson . She also makes home visits and hospital visits upon request.
